The foreseeable influx of LCD TV polarizer orders has brought Optimax to add three new production lines named L5, L6, and L8 in 2004. While L5 has already launched into mass production in July, L6 will follow suit in November. As for L8, situated in Tainan Science Park, mass production is scheduled to begin in April 2005 after a pilot run in 2004.

 

As yield rates of new production lines have yet to see improvements, plans for the three increased production lines will proceed. However, to mitigate exposure to oversupply, Optimax will begin cutting down the output of old production lines as soon as L6 comes on line in the fourth quarter.
